Sparks from the old Coil

Here is the final sparklenght - record with the old 2" teslacoil. The spark is 600mm (long that´s 2 times the winding length) For this shot the input power was increased to 900VA 9KV@100mA and the MMC was changed to 10nF.

Here you see the record-spark of the 5,7nF MMC and 8KV@50mA configuration. The sparklenght was 370mm. Notice that the image was taken from first light.

This is a picture of the 2inch coil running with the new 6,8nF MMC and a bigger PSU with 10kV@50mA. The distance between topload and ladder was 500mm.

Here is a picture of the 2" coil with improved sparkgap. This spark is 560mm long.
