The 3" sparkgap is a airflow-quenched static gap (some coilers call it RQ-Sparkgap). The airflow is generated by a 120x120mm fan sucking the air through small ports between each gap.

First of all a piece of 100mm pipe was taken from the leftover of the 4" secondary and the copperpipe was cut to the needed lenght.

Next, the ports get cut into the PVC-pipe and the copperpipes were fixed with threaded rods and nuts.

This is how the sparkgap looked before mounting the quenchfan. It´s 9 gaps with a total distance of 3,5mm.
