I started to experiment with highvoltage in the age of 13 when I first found a circurit of a flyback driven HV-powersupply on the internet. Later on I started building cascades and other devices to generate highvoltage. In the year 2001, when I was 15 years old I found a site about the scientist and genius Nikola Tesla. There I made the first contact with the so called "teslacoils". After some weeks of investigation I started to build my first own teslacoil. Itīs form was 1" and the powersupply was a transistor driven flybacktransformer from an old black&white TV. The results were not very satisfying and so I put all the tesla stuff away for some time to concentrate on my education. In this time I build lots of electronic stuff, mosfet audioamps and room-automation things. In the year 2002 I got some neontransformers from a local neonshop. This was the trigger for what I am doing today. As I finished my first real teslacoil (1" coil old) I decided to go bigger. As I have not reached my limits yet I am still building. I havenīt found a good reason why I am building teslacoils for nearly 6 years now, maybe because sparks and lightning already fascinated me when I was a little child. Now I am able to produce my own small lightning and this fascinates me even more. I am also a lot in electronics, but itīs not really wort to advertise. I have spent several 1000Euros on my HV hobby now, but got some of the money back by selling some of my old coils on ebay. I never got any bad feedback from the new owners of my coils. I am always looking for used neon- and oilburner- transformers. If you have some spare I would be very thankful to get. If I can purchase the parts someday I would be fond of building a double resonant solid state teslacoil, but at this time I donīt have the financial capabilities to do so.
Donīt think that I am some kind of freak thats spends his life in staying in his workingroom, building teslacoils. I am just a guy with a little different hobby. I spend most of my freetime with my friends and my girlfriend. I am very interested in all kinds of Audio and Video equipment and have build up serious Audiosystems in my car and my livingroom. I love nature and I am very happy and proud of living in Tyrol, the most beautiful place I know. I would for no reason move away from Austria. Before I started working I was a member of the Austrian Alpinist Association for 5 years. Since I started to work I regretfully found no time for it besides my other hobbies. In summer I spend 2-3weeks outside the country, the rest of the summer I spend on mountain-biking, swimming and festivals.
In winter I like to go skiing, thus I live in Tyrol I have a lot of very cool ski regions around me and it never gets boring.
